April 1 Job and Resource Fair in Snow Hill Offers Wide Array of Career Opportunities

Snow Hill, Maryland – Calling all job seekers. Meet prospective employers from across Worcester County and choose from a variety of part-time and year-round jobs at the Worcester County Job and Resource Fair on Wednesday, April 1, at the Snow Hill Volunteer Fire Company from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

If you rent a home, apartment, or room — even seasonally — a rental license is required and must be renewed annually.  

Homeowner Convenience Centers Now Open, Landfill to Reopen Wednesday, February 25

Snow Hill, Maryland (February 24, 2026) – After exhaustive cleanup efforts following the winter snowstorm, the Pocomoke Homeowner Convenience Center (HOCC) is once again open and will accept yard waste year-round. The Berlin and Snow Hill HOCCS will accept yard waste on a temporary basis until the Central Landfill reopens.

The Central Landfill in Newark will remain closed today, while Choptank Electric crews are on-site clearing a downed tree and power lines on Central Site Lane. The Central Landfill will reopen Wednesday, February 25.

Worcester County urges residents to stay home to allow crews to clear roads

Snow Hill, Maryland – Worcester County Emergency Services (WCES) officials strongly urge all citizens to remain indoors and off roadways to allow road crews, emergency personnel, and utility providers to operate safely and effectively to clear secondary roads of snow, downed trees, and power lines following the blizzard.

Unnecessary travel places increased risks to drivers, can cause significant delays for public safety officials responding to emergencies, and slows snow removal and debris-clearing efforts.

Snow Hill, Maryland – Due to continuing unsafe weather conditions, Worcester County Government offices will be closed Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Office closings include the government center, recreation center, all five branch libraries, Welcome Center in Pocomoke, Central Landfill in Newark, and the Homeowner Convenience Centers, in Berlin, Pocomoke, Snow Hill, and the Central Landfill.

Worcester County officials will continue to monitor the progress of the winter snowstorm and advise the public of any further cancellations or closings that may occur.

Worcester County Emergency Services Urges Residents to Prepare for Winter Snowstorm

Snow Hill, MD (February 21, 2026) – The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for Worcester County. Forecasts for Sunday evening into early Monday call for six to 12 inches of snow and 30-50 mph winds. The combination of heavy winds and snow will likely lead to whiteout or blizzard conditions. Minor tidal flooding is possible along the coast and bays.

The Worcester County Department of Emergency Services (DES) urges residents to prepare now, as power outages, downed trees, and rapidly deteriorating road conditions are likely.

Public Notice – Water Outage February 24 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Briarcrest Drive in Ocean Pines

Public Works will shut off water to an estimated 11 homes on Briarcrest Drive in the Ocean Pines Service District to replace a water service main on Tuesday, February 24, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., with an alternative date of Wednesday February 25. Water service will be affected for approximately 3-4 hours, while crews make the repair.
