Worcester County Government offices closed July 4

Worcester County Government (WCG) offices, including all five Branch Libraries, Recreation and Parks, the Central Landfill, and Homeowner Convenience Centers, will be closed Monday, July 4, 2022.

All WCG offices will resume standard hours of operation on Tuesday, July 5.

Commissioners Seeking Volunteers to Serve on New Police Accountability Boards

Snow Hill, Maryland (June 30, 2022) – The Worcester County Commissioners are seeking interest from area residents to serve on three new civilian boards being implemented under the Maryland Police Accountability Act. These include the Police Accountability Board, Administrative Charging Committee, and Trial Board.

Worcester County Offices Closing for Juneteenth on Monday, June 20

Worcester County Government (WCG) offices, including all five Branch Libraries and Recreation and Parks, will be closed Monday, June 20, 2022, for Juneteenth, National Freedom Day.

The Central Landfill and Homeowner Convenience Centers will also be closed.

WCG offices will resume standard operating hours on Tuesday, June 21.

 

Isle of Wight Park Closure for June 13

The Isle of Wight Park, located at 13090 St. Martin’s Neck Road in Bishopville, will be closed to the public for a special event on Monday, June 13, 2022, from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The park will reopen to the public concluding the event at 12:00 p.m.

Worcester County Invites Public to Comment on Land Preservation, Parks, and Recreation Plan

Snow Hill, Maryland (June 3, 2022) – Worcester County Environmental Programs (WCEP), in collaboration with Worcester County Recreation and Parks, has completed a draft of the 2022 Land Preservation, Parks and Recreation Plan (LPPRP) and is seeking public input on this updated plan. 

Anticipate Minor Travel Delays on Newark Road During Repaving June 3-7, 2022

The Public Works Roads Division advises residents and visitors to anticipate minor travel delays on Newark Road from U.S. Rt. 113 to Tindley Road from June 3 – 7, 2022.

Milling begins June 3, with paving scheduled to take place June 7.

Worcester County Government (WCG) offices, including all five Branch Libraries and Recreation and Parks, will be closed Monday, May 30, 2022, for the Memorial Day holiday. The Central Landfill and Homeowner Convenience Centers will also be closed.

WCG offices will resume standard operating hours on Tuesday, May 31. WCG staff wish one and all a happy and safe holiday weekend.
