Registration is open for Worcester County Recreation & Parks fall youth leagues.

The Youth Outdoor Soccer League and Youth Field Hockey League will kick-off in September. The Soccer League is open to children ages 3 through 8th grade, while Field Hockey is open to children in kindergarten through eighth grade.

Commissioners Issue Final Call for Volunteers Ahead of Inaugural Meeting of Police Accountability Boards This Fall

There is still time before the inaugural meeting of the Police Accountability Board this fall for area residents to apply to serve on the Administrative Charging Committee.

The five-member Administrative Charging Committee is one of three new boards implemented under the State Police Accountability Act (Act). The charging committee will review complaints and investigations of police misconduct, determine whether an officer should be charged with misconduct, and if charged recommend discipline from the State-created matrix.

Worcester County Offices Closed Labor Day, September 5

Worcester County Government (WCG) offices, including the Central Landfill in Newark, Homeowner Convenience Centers, Worcester County Recreation Center (WCRC), and the five branch libraries, will be closed Monday, September 5, 2022, for the Labor Day holiday.

WCG offices will resume standard operating hours Tuesday, September 6. WCG staff wish one and all a happy and safe holiday weekend.

 

Isle of Wight Center to be closed July 20, 2022 for HVAC Replacement

The Isle of Wight Center, located at the intersection of U.S. Rt. 90 and St. Martins Neck Road, will be closed for one day on July 20, 2022 to replace the facility’s HVAC units.
